American free speech is a super powered front end voting skill. The First Amendment protects the rights of all Americans to speech, religion, press, the right to assemble and act together and the right to petition the government and ask for change. In the 21st century, these rights have been amplified by the digital public square. But digital technologies have also empowered autocrats with new means for censorship, surveillance, and propaganda. Speaking in the 21st century is a critical skill.
